A Warm Start of The Day: Sweet Miso Soup

Sweet Miso Soup and Green Smoothie for breakfast! <3

For the soup, I used sweet veggies: yam and sweet onion with grated ginger in broccoli stem broth and gluten-free/non-MSG sweet Koji Miso. Garnished with thyme. Served with Kale-Banana Smoothie with oat milk! <3

A warm start of the day! <3 <3 <3

Thanksgiving Breakfast - Shojin-style

🍁 Thanksgiving breakfast πŸ‚ in Shojin-style (monk’s breakfast)πŸ™ Savoring my Zen moment, since yesterday, grinding the sesame seeds for 2 hours, whisking for 30 minutes, and letting it sleep πŸ’€ in the tofu-molding container. Tripled the ingredients from my normal recipe for this: http://bit.ly/2A7yRmD 😊 The whisking part should’ve been 40 min😝...came out a little soggyπŸ’¦ πŸ˜‚ Ate with cooked acorn and turnip, shiitake-mushroom/turnip/sweet onion miso soup and a scoop of jasmine rice... on my Zen plate ☺️πŸ™☀️πŸ’“ #zenful #shojin #thankful #γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ† #gomadofu #η¦… #胑麻豆腐 #thanksgivingbreakfast

When Autumn Leaves Land On My Plate... (Mango & Persimmon Salad)

Some of the colorful fall leaves landed on my plate today (mango & persimmon) ! So, I made a salad (photo 2) mixed with garlic and mint leaves. Would've been nicer with red pepper flakes for both color and flavor, but hey, you make the best out of what you got, right? :)

Happy Autumn and bracing for the cold winter in full force!!  Stay healthy! xoxo

Best,
Mariko

Sprouted Quinoa Salad with Umesu (Plum Vinegar)

Quinoa~! I had to have my quinoa salad today. >_<  So, I cooked/boiled the sprouted quinoa with shiitake mushrooms and coconut oil. Mixed it with baby spinach, diced apple, dried cranberries and crushed almonds. Then...I was debating whether to use this new Japanese "Umesu (plum vinegar)" or just stick with apple cider vinegar. I went with the sweeter, subtle "Umesu" and I was glad I did! With a kick of a squeezed lemon, the quinoa salad came out deliciously~! <3

I highly recommend this organic Umesu (plum vinegar)!

Have a nice Sunday! :)

Fall-Inspired Melon and Mango Balls

A brilliant blend of fall colors (lemon & lime colors) inspired me to decorate a plate
with similar color fruits: Melon & Mango balls! ^_^

I would've used lemons & limes, if only they weren't so sour! >_<

I took a stroll, and was drawn to these inspiring exciting fall colors! The weather's been pretty warm.

Found the same fall colors at a local grocery store!

Have a wonderful autumn day!
